My wife Shan and I came to the United States in 1985 from England. We met in England while we were both foreign students. She is from HK and I am a Chinese from Mozambique. I was 16 years old when I left Mozambique and headed towards England.
After completing my bachelor’s degree in EE Engineering from Manchester University, we got married and I started working for Plessey Telecommunications designing hardware computer systems for the Phone companies.

Our son Sergio was born in Maryland, where I spent 10 years working for Hekimian Labs., specializing in testing of telecommunications computer systems throughout the USA. While in Maryland, I attended Maryland University and John Hopkins University working on my Computer Science programs.
We moved to Stockton from Maryland in 1995. For 10 years, I worked in Sacramento designing computer software systems for Tesco Controls, Inc., Endosonics Medical Devices, Inc. and Intel Corporation.
I got tired of commuting daily and decided to move back to Stockton. Luckily, the City of Stockton IT Department hired me to work for them. I worked on their Library Computer Software Systems. Later, I designed many new Computer Software Apps for all City Departments as well as for the Library and the City websites.
I also worked part-time as a Loan Officer for 2 years and Tax Preparer for H&R Block for 7 years.
I retired from the City of Stockton in 2021.
Currently, I enjoy morning walks, swimming, table tennis, tai chi, praise dance, church choir, karaoke, fresh baked bread, chinese brush painting and more.

I joined Jene Wah Board in 2024. My wishes are to ensure that Jene Wah is a great place that welcomes all senior citizens including myself. I know this is important for seniors because I watched my mom coming to Jene Wah everyday for years and she had fun and lots of joy.
